Christmas Eve Offering: Local

For the third year in a row we are pushing our generosity to extremes on Christmas Eve and collecting an offering for our global, regional and local initiatives. This year our local focus is the mobile food truck and our church’s food pantry.

This past November was the two-year mark of hosting our monthly mobile food truck. We have grown from around 80 families to 120 families attending. This means we have had to increase the size of truck we receive from 5,000 lbs of food to 7,500 lbs of food each time. We have also increased the amount of pizza served, and this all increases the cost of hosting each month.

Our food pantry has also seen an increase in attendees this year. By giving to the Christmas Eve offering you are helping to provide funding for both of these ministries for the next year. How great would it be to know that for the next 12 months all the funding for the food truck and food pantry is provided for?! Each of these ministries not only provides food for those who attend, but gives us the opportunity to build relationships with those who come through our doors. Our hope is that the joyful spirits of those volunteering will show the love of Jesus that we hope they all receive. We want to nourish their bodies and their souls, and for them to see that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Please join us in praying about your part in giving. What is God calling you to do? Please keep the food truck and the food pantry in your prayers as well, praying for the relationships being developed, and for the volunteers interacting with the guests.
